Love Whitby. There is plenty to do, great eating out and it’s easy to walk anywhere if you are reasonably fit. The Abbey is stunning and the events/drama staged are amazing. Equally, there are superb places to visit like Robin Hood’s Bay, Saltburn and Sandsend close by. My very favourite English seaside town.
Favourite places to eat: Abbey Wharf and Cranberry Swamp (for breakfast)
We ate at Pescado Lounge on this trip: great food.

Very nice historic fishing village I would visit again.
Very nice historic fishing village I would visit again. Abby and Captain cook museum is worth a visit. I had mussels and fish and chips at Mister Fish and Chips and it was all very good. Whitby is quite hilly but easy to get around. A train trip on the Yorkshire Moors railway is a must. I wish I had stayed a bit longer than over night.

I would advise the Park and ride as Whitby is a nightmare to park. We parked at the P&R and got an all day family bus ticket for £5:20, for the length of time we were there i think it would have cost much more to park. Whitby is a great place but, shops seem to be closing down, not a lot but they are closing.
Breakfast was tasty and the beds were comfortable the hotel also wasn't very far from the restaurants and whitby shops so thats a big bonus in my eyes.
the staff were also very useful and frendly my mom loved the expirence I thought the price was a bargain as the staff also listened to my concerns and took notes about how hot my room was they were also very knowledgible at transport which was a life saver for someone who lives with someone who can't follow directions well oh and the food they cooked was amazingly tasty as well.
I loved all the character of the property, as soon as I walked in it had a very elegant Victorian feel to the building. It definitely stood out as more than an ordinary hotel room.
The room was clean, comfortable and very spacious,it had everything you could need.
The bed was so comfortable, I had a brilliant night sleep.
The hotel is in a perfect location with only a short walk into Whitby town centre and had parking on site if you didn’t want to pay parking fees in town.
I loved my stay and would definitely stay again.
I booked for 2 nights for a solo birthday treat at this hotel based in a pub and was so impressed! My room was up a very unprepossesing flight of narrow stairs those with mobility problems may have a problem) and let myself into an absolute surprise of room! Well decorated, well presented, absolutely comfortable, and sparkling clean. Fabulous views over Whitby harbour. I booked bed and breakfast with my room, and each morning, I had an amazing, freshly cooked breakfast.
I turned up after midnight with no luggage for an unexpected stay. The staff were amazing, finding me food and toiletries and making me feel very welcome. This is a beautiful hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. The lake and gardens were lovely to stroll around. The breakfast was excellent and the morning staff just as welcoming and professional as the night before. The only good thing to come out of a bad day was discovering this hotel. I'll be back.
We have stayed in Whitby before but parking is always an issue so we were thrilled to find this hotel with parking situated just outside the town and right opposite the Park and Ride service. We were able to travel to Whitby and then catch buses to Robin Hood's bay and Scarborough. The Stables is comfortable with beautiful accommodation and lovely grounds. The staff are helpful and friendly and we had some excellent meals.
The breakfast was excellent, especially the wonderful black pudding. The hotel was situated in a quiet area with parking, a must for Whitby. It was an easy short walk into the centre. Paula was so welcoming with tea and delicious home made fruit cake on our arrival. As dog lovers, we loved Denzil, the very well behaved Labradoodle.
We booked this hotel for the following reasons: dog friendly, on site parking, central position in Whitby, use of restaurant if needed, lift to all floors. The reception staff were lovely & friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel bar was welcoming and was used regularly by many hotel guests.
The room had a very good view of the sea and well-placed chairs. The bed was comfortable. The man at reception was able to give us very helpful information about parking and the hotel also provided a limited number of spaces. The hotel is within walking distance of the centre of Whitby.
This property offerred privacy and was better than most hotels or airbnbs that we have visited. It was decorated. It provided more than enough space due to having a living room and kitchenette and if I was going back to Whitby, I would not hesitate to return to the Loft.
From the hotel quality bed to the modern bathroom and interesting decor alongside the friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts and the view of the Abbey make this the perfect place to stay for Whitby, Robin Hoods Bat and the North Yorkshire Moors.
A lovely historic hotel in a quiet village, room was very spacious, comfortable and clean and the large garden, sitting room and honesty bar are all nice touches. Hotel is around a miles or so walk from Whitby, with a few options for routes.
The location was perfect for our little Whitby trip. Booking was easy and surprisingly inexpensive for last minute. The landlord was helpful and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean. Parking was free and convenient. Great stay 😁
I’ve just returned from a lovely stay at The Resolution Hotel in Whitby. Hotel was in a great location. Room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay again!
The hotel couldn't be in a better spot in whitby. The room was a good size and in excellent condition. The pub was standard Witherspoon so you know exactly what your getting. All in all a very enjoyable 2 night stay
The room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast well cooked and plentyful.
The hotel is in a difficult location for weekend parking but a good location to visit the town,

It was a 1-2 mile walk from Whitby. It was dog friendly, the room was clean and very comfortable, and the staff were helpful. The breakfast was very good
